Where to go, how to get there, for the ICS

Getting Downtown from the Airport
To get downtown from the airport take a cab or take the light rail as follows:

Pick up the Max Light Rail from the airport all the way to downtown SW 5th stop. Get off the train, walk a few meters northwest to the bus stop at SW 5th and Morrison St.  Pick up Bus #12.  Get off at Portland State University (SW 5th and Hall).

Walk two blocks west and one north, about 3 minutes to the Student Union.
Walk one block west and half a block south to the dormitory.
Walk one block east and two blocks south to the hotel, University Place.

(Once you exit the max train downtown, your are only .3 miles north of campus.   Most southbound buses will get you near Portland State. Ask a bus driver if you’re not sure.)

The institute site is in two rooms in Portland State University’s Smith Student Union, located downtown at 1825 Broadway, between Harrison and Montgomery.

Dormitory Location (H8 on map)
The dormitory we are staying is called the Ondine Building.  It is just one block south and one block west from the student union.

Instructions and Room Info for Dormitory

Rooms will be ready by 2 p.m. on the day that you check in.  If you arrive earlier than that, the room may still be ready.  If not, they will gladly store your luggage.
The Summer Housing office is on the 3rd floor of the Ondine in room 301. Office hours will be 8am-8pm Mon-Fri. If you arrive after 8pm or on the weekend, or you have an urgent need when the office is closed, please call the on-call number at 503-703-5523.
The rooms are provided with bedding, towels, a coffee maker, fan, and alarm clock. No soap or shampoo is provided. There is no fridge or microwave in the room. Please hang up your towels to dry as they will not be changed every day. Check out is 11am. To check out, please leave your key on desk in your room.
Paying for Rooms

Cost of rooms:  $40 a night, $20 each if shared by two.  You will pay the full cost of the dormitory room at the time that you register for conference.      PLEASE BRING A CHECKBOOK!  If all else fails, you can pay with a credit card through the Mediations donations website, but we would prefer to keep this simple.
